Introduction
Building on this immersive on-site training experience, the program brought together nine participants from diverse backgrounds, including the Colombia, Indonesia, Mongolia, Qatar, the Philippines, the UAE, the United States. Throughout the week, participants learned alongside one another in an open and collaborative environment, exchanging perspectives shaped by different healthcare systems and clinical practices.
Prior to arriving in Korea, participants had already completed the online learning on Integrative and Korean Medicine focusing on Acupuncture, MSAT (Motion Style Acupuncture Treatment), Pharmacopuncture, and Chuna Manual Therapy. The on-site program allowed these foundations to truly come to life—transforming prior knowledge into deeper, clinically grounded experiences through hands-on practice, direct observation from physicians from Jaseng Hospital, and close interaction with practitioners at Jaseng Hospital of Korean Medicine.
Beyond the scheduled lectures and training sessions, the week was also about connection and reflection—asking practical clinical questions, sharing insights, and experiencing how Integrative and Korean Medicine are applied in everyday patient care within a hospital setting.

Day 1|Orientation, Hospital Tour & Foundation of Clinical Practice
Following the orientation, participants took part in a guided hospital tour of Jaseng Hospital of Korean Medicine with our Resident doctors from Jaseng Medical Academy. Walking through the clinical spaces helped contextualize the week's learning—allowing participants to see firsthand how outpatient/inpatient care is organized, how treatment rooms are structured, and how Korean Medicine fits seamlessly into modern diagnostic tools. For many, this was their first opportunity to observe Korean Medicine practiced at this scale within a fully operational medical institution.
The afternoon sessions focused on building clinical foundations through MSAT (Motion Style Acupuncture Treatment) and Chuna Manual Therapy. While participants had already been introduced to these concepts through prior online learning, the in-person setting allowed for clearer understanding and deeper discussion. Instructors emphasized clinical indications, patient assessment, and real-world application, helping connect theory to everyday practice.
Hands-on demonstrations and guided practice followed, giving participants the chance to experience techniques directly and ask practical questions based on clinical scenarios. The interactive nature of these sessions encouraged active participation and set the pace for the rest of the week—focused, engaging, and rooted in clinical relevance.
Day 2|Ultrasound Fundamentals & Pharmacopuncture in Clinical Practice
Building on prior theoretical knowledge, participants explored how ultrasound is applied in real clinical settings, including anatomical identification and interpretation relevant to musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions. For many, this session helped clarify how imaging can enhance accuracy and confidence in treatment, especially when combined with Korean Medicine treatments.
The learning then progressed to pharmacopuncture practice, where participants examined both the conceptual background and practical application of this unique treatment modality. What made the session especially engaging was the integration of ultrasound-guided techniques, allowing participants to better visualize anatomical structures and understand Pharmacopuncture (Acupuncture Injection Therapy) depth, positioning, and safety considerations.
Through guided demonstrations and supervised practice, participants experienced how pharmacopuncture is clinically applied to conditions such as lumbar, and peripheral nerve-related disorders. The hands-on nature of the session sparked active discussion, with participants asking detailed clinical questions and sharing insights based on their own medical backgrounds.
By the end of the day, many participants expressed that combining pharmacopuncture with ultrasound guidance significantly deepened their understanding—moving beyond techniques into a more thoughtful, patient-centered clinical approach.
Day 3|Clinical Observation & Visits to the Jaseng Medi-Bio Center
During these sessions, participants observed how integrative, non-surgical approaches—including acupuncture, Chuna Manual Therapy, and pharmacopuncture—are applied to a wide range of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions. Seeing these treatments in action helped connect the technical skills learned earlier in the week with real patient interaction and decision-making.
In the afternoon, the group visited the Jaseng Medi-Bio Center, one of the most memorable highlights of the program. The visits offered a behind-the-scenes look at the foundation of Jaseng's integrative care, from the selection and quality control of medicinal herbs to the production of pharmacopuncture injectables.
Participants were particularly engaged while learning how herbal ingredients are processed, sterile prepared into injection vials, and customized according to clinical use. The tour also included insight into how individualized herbal decoctions are formulated and supplied directly to patients, emphasizing safety, standardization, and clinical precision.
For many participants, this visit reshaped their understanding of how Korean Medicine can be practiced at scale while maintaining quality and personalization—highlighting the role of research, manufacturing, and clinical integration working together.
Day 4|Research, Innovation & the Broader Landscape of Korean Medicine
The morning began with a visit to the Jaseng Spine and Joint Research Institute, where participants were introduced to Jaseng's evidence-based research approach to non-surgical spine and joint care. Through presentations and discussions and visits to the lab facilities, they learned how clinical data, evidence-based research, and ongoing studies inform treatment protocols used in daily practice.
This session offered valuable insight into how Korean Medicine continues to evolve—bridging traditional principles with modern scientific research. For many participants, seeing this close connection between the clinic and the research institute reinforced the importance of evidence generation and continuous improvement in the Integrative Medicine.
Later in the day, the group visited the Seoul K-Medi Center, providing a broader overview of how Korean Medicine is positioned within Korea's healthcare system and introduced globally. This visit helped contextualize Korean Medicine not just as a clinical practice, but as part of a larger national and international healthcare framework.
The day concluded with a visits to the Herb Medicine Museum at K-Medi Center and Herbal Market, where participants explored the historical and cultural roots of herbal medicine. walking through the exhibits offered a moment to step back from clinical intensity and reflect on the long tradition behind modern practices—an experience many found both grounding and inspiring.
Day 5|Pharmacopuncture Practice, Herbal Medicine Experience & Reflections
Following this, the focus shifted to a lecture on herbal medicine and its clinical use, emphasizing how herbal prescriptions are selected based on patient symptoms and clinical presentations. Rather than learning formulas in isolation, participants explored how herbal medicine fits into comprehensive treatment planning within integrative care.
One of the most engaging moments of the day came when participants were invited to experience and taste various herbal medicine from Jaseng, gaining a more intuitive understanding of their characteristics and therapeutic purposes. This sensory experience prompted thoughtful discussion, with participants exchanging impressions and reflecting on how such prescriptions are used in everyday clinical practice.
The program concluded with a graduation ceremony and reflection session, offering a meaningful pause at the end of an intensive week. Participants shared their thoughts on the in-person training—highlighting hands-on pharmacopuncture, Chuna Manual Therapy, clinical observation, and insights gained from visits to Jaseng's clinical pharmaceutical facilities as key takeaways.
What began as foundational online learning had, through this in-person experience, grown into a deeper and more practical understanding of Integrative and Korean Medicine.
